开始去听艾米.怀恩豪斯是因为一篇文章说她从小听Ella Fitzgerald，而慢慢地就喜爱上这位歌手。因为她是流行歌手吧，因此有着令人容易接受的声音/旋律和节奏，而她的演绎又保留着原始爵士的现场感，没有歇斯底叫喊，也没有故作低吟，总是这么恰到好处。我记得她的记录片里有位音乐人大概是这样形容她的“年纪轻轻的，却有着老爵士乐手的声音”。。。
